I haven't read or heard anything about this case and only know about it from reading a few posts on this thread and the appeal transcript. But it strikes me that if the girl cannot remember anything from the previous night, how could she know that she had not agreed to have sex with Evans? And if she can't remember that, how could rape have been proved?

Quick question - who on here paid money to watch the Hangover? Not a lot of protests over convicted rapist Mike Tyson earning money in a Hollywood movie. I'm sure Hollywood movies have a higher profile that Oldham Athletic.

I agree with you BRANDED except your facts are wrong I believe after reading the appeal document.
The expert actually said in court that even though she might not remember that night that DOES NOT mean she was unconscious or incapable of giving her consent. In fact he went on to say that lack of memory is usual after heavy drinking and it is normal for inhibitions to go and to agree things you would never normally do. I think we have all experienced that....

Football isn't but it's clearly an issue. Some idiots on here praising Oldham for being brave. They were going to get a £5 million plus and £20k per week player on the cheap.
You can't blame sponsors or people for having morals and not wanting their club associated with a raper.
Because this girl appeared to also have fairly loose morals then for some weird cunts she's now considered the one at fault and he's become the victim!

Its not the law that's the issue. The law is part of the whole society thing. The law and society act together. Laws are not handed down by God. They are formed as part of the mood and wishes of society. The part of society that gives a fuck and presents a good argument to back it up.

I never said that.
I said he was convicted by his peers. The evidence was laid out and they considered him guilty.
What happens after that is a society thing and you may well disagree with it but it is where society is. Many women ( 50% of society) do not want this man in the public space. Many men don't either. They express their opinion well and its heard.
Until a decent argument is put forward for Ched he won't be employed at a football club to play for the first team.
He should build his life from the bottom and show remorse.

Which in typical WHO fashion got turned from my mrs stopping a fight between my mate and a turkish bloke resulted in her being nutted, but some how managed to turn into her being smashed in by local turkish kebab owners.
Funny I split with her 5 years ago, which I ended.
